What you can expect

Greg's process is simple:

He applies what he knows to your situation and goals and then monitors the investments and reviews them with you on a regular basis.

Initial Meeting

Your initial meeting(s) is a chance for us to get to know you and your financial situation and goals.  At the same time, this is a good opportunity for you to ask questions and learn more about the value of working with a Financial Advisor and what we can do for you, including a discussion of fees.

Beth Ruff, is a former Financial Advisor and it is common for her to be present in the meetings as well. Beth helps to take notes meetings, and her ten years of banking experience often comes in handy.

In addition to the obvious information that would be collected such as your age, your financial assets and income, you can expect other more subjective questions.  For instance, it may be important to know your history with investing, what you would like to accomplish with your investments (goals) and your comfort level with different types of investments (risk tolerance).

Recommendations and Implementation

Whether you are simply looking to do better with your investments or you would like help with retirement projections or a financial plan, it is usually at the follow-up meeting where Greg or Jacob is able to give you feedback on your current situation and make recommendations.

Once recommendations are agreed upon, they can be implemented.

Monitoring and Reviews

On a daily basis, Greg and Jacob are watching the markets and economic news.  They do a considerable amount of ongoing research on investments, the economy and financial planning issues.  In addition to this, they regularly monitor your specific accounts and investments.  Although they believe in buying good quality investments and holding them for the long-term, there is sometimes a need to make adjustments due to market events or tax changes.  They will proactively contact you if they feel that revisions need to be made.  In addition to this, their office will contact you a minimum of once a year for a face-to-face annual review.  If you wish to meet more often than that, they are happy to do so.

These review meetings are a good opportunity to be in touch with how your investments and the markets are doing.  At the same time, it helps to make sure that they are aware of any changes in your circumstances or goals.  The review meetings may also involve some recommendations or further planning opportunities.  The monitoring and reviewing is part of the ongoing process to meet your expectations and goals.
